MRE Meals, Military Food, Now Used by the Adventuring Public
MRE (Meal, Ready to Eat) have long been used by the military as individualised field ration packs because they are full of nutrients and calories. These MRE meals were scientifically made and packaged for the harsh environment the military had to bear while out on the field and how these meals were stored, carried and prepared were also crucial elements to their invention of such meals. MREs do not need to be refrigerated, and MREs can be consumed cold, without any heating or preparation however over time flameless ration heaters (flameless heater bags) were introduced so that an MRE could be heated if preferred. As well as its use as a survival food supply in the event of emergencies or natural disasters, MRE are now popular food options for camping, hiking, 4wding, boating and adventures.
