About FairAir Mask
FairAir Mask is an airway protection face mask. A flexible, form-shaped device that is placed over the nose and mouth to provide respiratory protection. Most P3 face masks, by design, interfere with the appropriate fit of goggles and helmet. The FairAir face mask is designed to fit comfortably over the face and have a breathability rate of less than 65Pa making it extremely easy to breathe compared to P2 masks*. FairAir face mask prevents the wearer from inhaling dusts, mists, and other airborne particles, including tuberculosis (TB) bacteria, present in the environment. It is made of natural materials that produce a soft, flexible mask that will create an airtight seal against the patient's face. The device consists of a filter held in a headstrap. One size fits all. This is a washable and reusable device that may be sterilised.

CSIRO tests show that it removes 99.94% of 0.3 micron and 100% of 0.7 micron and larger particulates (compared to ~94% for P2 masks). Easy to breathe and talk through. Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Quick to put on/ remove. Also works effectively for wearers with facial hair. Highly fire resistant (was designed as mask for bushfire fighters).

How Long will Filters Last?
These FairAir filters are reusable and washable and with simple washing these filters can be expected to last for years.

How to Care for FairAir Protective Face Mask
  • Wash filter after each day's use
  • Remove filter from holder before washing (wash filter and holder separately)
  • Hand wash filter in warm water with wool wash or shampoo
  • Air dry and then tumble dry (if able to). Tumble drying helps re-establish electrostatic properties
  • The holder can be machine washed with other clothing
  • Use face mask when thoroughly dry

Caring for you FairAir Face Mask can prolong longevity of your face mask.

Avoid if serious about Respiratory Protection

by Dan

I have used this product in actual firefighting situations requiring respiratory protection where using Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus was not practical. This product was awful and not fit for purpose. I threw it out. I did not purchase from Survival Supplies Australia so this is not aimed at them but this product is all hype and was a waste of money. If you are genuinely in a position to need a face and respiratory protection level that is more fire resistant than your disposable P2 masks; invest in a half/full face mask with cartridge filters instead with better & certified filtration levels. It’s concept was appealing but it’s practicality was way off the mark. The materials frayed and decayed easily, the filters made breathing difficult and I ended up with an airway full of alpaca hairs after each use, regardless of washing. To top it off the manufacturers customer service and communication before and after purchase is beyond appalling and down-right disgusting
