The Grimloc Locking D-Ring is a great item to have if you want to attach or hang gear from your backpack, belt, or any kind of a line for storage or carrying. It is used to replace metal carabiners for attachments to webbing and used for the attachment of lanyards, weapons, and accessories.

It is a lightweight, high strength, Polymer construction and incorporates Ghillie Tex IR-signature reduction technology, and resists solar heating. Its latch is designed with a detent to maintain an open position if needed and, while strong enough to carry equipment, it will break away with a soldier's weight, eliminating snagging hazards which can cause serious injuries. It also has a textured grip for use with wet/glove handsand self purging ports to eliminate sand from blocking the mechanism. Corrosion-resistant Stainless Steel spring and plastic. Tricky little items to have for so many purposes.
