This KA-BAR fighting USMC Knife celebrates the 120th Anniversary of KA-BAR Knives. The USMC Series is a commemorative edition to men and women in uniform who dedicate their lives on the field. With a 178mm 1095 Cro-Van steel blade and special logo of " The Union" from the 1900's, the years marked from 1898 and 2018, and a bear engraved on to the black finish blade gives this fixed blade meaning and significance. The handle is made of traditional stacked leather and has carbon steel guard for a secure grip. This beautiful knife comes with a genuine leather sheath embossed with the USMC logo. The bear on the blade signifies the bear an Alaskan Hunter defended himself against using a Union Cutlery Knife. He later sent a letter showing his gratitude to the knife makers and in the letter he wrote the initials K a Bar which meant Kill a Bear together with its fur. That is how KA-BAR came to be the Trademark name of Union Cutlery.
