LT Wright Genesis Scandi A2 Fixed Blade Knife

The LT Wright Genesis Scandi is a cool and popular bushcraft knife, made in the United States. 
In terms of shapes it is a little like the archetypical bushcraft knife - simple but good. The handle looks simple but works. You have enough grip over this 'broomstick' handle no matter how you hold it. Whether you are notching, feathering or cooking, the deep cut-outs on the front and sides of the handle are perfect for your thumb. Great during a 'chest-lever' cutting movement, or when gutting game.

Of all LT Wright bushcraft knives the Genesis is one of the most popular. Justifiably so, if you ask us ! The extra attention paid to the construction of this knife has truly paid off. The handle is attached with strong pins for a mechanical construction. LT Wright combined it with naval grade epoxy. As such the construction is even more solid and ready to be used ! 

This version of the LT Wright Genesis is enhanced with a scandi grind. To make sure the edge is extra sustainable, and better equipped to handle heavy-duty use, LT Wright enhanced the Scandi edge with a micro-bevel. A minimal secondary edge, like on the cutting edge. As such the knife retains its sharpness and won't easily chip. 

A2 is a tough type of strong tool steel that retains its sharpness well. An advantage of A2 is that it is easy to sharpen. Even when you are out in the field with limited means. Do, however, be careful with rust,  A2 is not completely stainless. Pay close attention when working with moisture, salt and acids. This could change the colour of the blade or establish a patina. So clean it after use and occasionally add a couple drops of oil. 

The comfortable handle is made from Micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.
