Description
The Companion Heavy Duty MG is the optimal companion for rigorous adventures and challenges. The robust handle and somewhat blunter 27 degree edge angle give it maximum edge resiliency. The blade is extra thick (3.2mm) to be able to withstand all kinds of pressure and it’s made of carbon steel, which is simple to sharpen. Remember that carbon steel needs maintaining though, so make it a habit to wipe the knife and oil the blade after usage.

The Companion Heavy Duty MG is a powerful tool for all avid outdoorsmen, bushcraft enthusiasts, hunters and more. This knife is easy to resharpen with its scandi grind and high quality carbon steel. Its plastic sheath comes with a belt clip.

excellent knife, needs maintaining, better than next level higher value Mora IMHO

by Adam -

Bought this Mora as one of three - Mora camp axe and mora Mg, Mora MG HD, and black carbon SS Mora MG tactical (flat and serrated) I would happily buy 2x this knife than its upgraded cousin. It will show rust in the field but knife maintenance will defray this. Its a good introductory knife and I am sure will help you calibrate the argument of SS vs SS carbon plated or non SS options. all have strengths and weaknesses but I think if you factor in multiple keen knives, maintenance, and cost, this knife will be in your pack.

Can't fault it

by Tyson -

Used in the field for various camp craft tasks and it performed well in all respects.

The blade is decently thick, so it can be used to split wood without damaging it. It's light and small enough to carry on your belt without the weight being bothersome. The belt clip has retaining spikes that keep it from coming off easily, which is good.

I'm unclear on the blade angle though, and I wasn't able to find much information about the best sharpener to use with it, except for just using an oilstone or whetstone.
