Interesting mechanism

I've not had to use it in a real emergency or medical situation (thankfully) but I have practiced with it a few times because I want to be familiar with it if I do need to use it. I feel like perhaps it's a little more complicated than a CAT twist-mechanism tourniquet but undeniable that when installed correctly it really clamps down. The concern I had was with releasing it, it just seems fiddly to get it to release and you can't ease pressure off like with a CAT tourniquet. It almost springs open.
