Description

Silky Saw Outback Edition Replacement Blades ONLY

Need a replacement blade for your Silky Saw Outback Pocketboy, Gomboy or Bigboy, or just want to keep one handy just in case? Choose from the 170mm, 240mm curve or 360mm curve for the Silky Outback Edition Folding Saws. Replacing the blade on the Silky Saw is quick and easy.

Silky Saw Outback Edition blades are manufactured from SK-4 carbon steel featuring a highly durable nickel/tin blend blade coating and cut out by a laser. The teeth are designed with no set which means they are formed inside the width of the blade - this reduces friction and enables a cleaner, faster and easier cut.

'Mirai-Me' is referred by Silky Saws as the 4 razor sharp cutting angles on the inside of each tooth that enables the blade to cut smoothly through a branch, significantly reducing splintering and producing a very fine, smooth cut. The super fine cut destroys up to 50% less wood cells allowing the tree to heal faster and reduces the risk of disease.

The impulse-hardened teeth goes through a process of high-frequency electro-impulse hardening during which the teeth are heated and hardened. Only the teeth are hardened so that the Silky Saw blade retains its flexibility whilst the teeth stay up to 3 times longer.

Replacement Blades available for:
Silky Pocketboy Outback Edition Saw 170-10
Silky Gomboy Outback Edition Saw 240-8
Silky Bigboy Outback Edition Saw 360mm 360-6.5

How to use a Silky Saw correctly:

  • Silky Saws use a pull stroke action to cut
  • If your Silky Saw every gets caught on a branch NEVER PUSH and NEVER WRENCH THE HANDLE
  • Instead, lift the weight of the blade to release the saw
  • You do not have to saw fast or use strength to saw with a Silky, simply pull/glide it across the wood
  • Do not sharpen your Silky Outback Edition saw with a hand file. Impulse hardened teeth are not easily sharpened (TIP: If the tips of your Silky Saw are dark and look a little grey then they have been hardened, which is the case for the Outback Edition)
Details
Non-Set Teeth: Taper ground to reduce resistance for smoother, easier and faster cutting
Impulse-Hardened: The teeth of the blade are heated and hardened to stay sharp 3 times longer than non-hardened teeth
Mirai-Me: Featuring the 4 cutting angles along the blade for rip-cutting, cross cutting and slant cutting, leaving a smooth surface every time
Black Plating: The black plating on the blade coats the entire blade, including the teeth, with a unique, highly durable Nickel/Tin blend. It provides longer blade life and improved cutting performance
