The Aurora Fire Starter by Solo Scientific is a true survival tool and will work in just about any environment.  Made in the USA, this fire starter is rugged and designed for survival. The Aurora Fire Starter uses a large 6.35mm diameter composite flint steel rod that has magnesium built into it. The built-in blade could be a lifesaver ! You can wear the lightweight Aurora Fire Starter on your key ring or on a lanyard around your neck so if you find yourself separated from your backpack or knife you will have everything you need to start a fire. 

The built-in blade takes off enough material to start a fire but will not cause excessive wear, and can be flipped over to reveal a fresh striking surface, or be sharpened if dulled. The Aurora Fire Starter is designed to function wet or dry, is machined from solid lightweight aluminium, is knurled for grip, and will not break when you need it most.  It has an o-ring seal to prevent the housing from unscrewing which provides protection from corrosion in salt water environments.
