Description

Bark River Edwin Forrest Bowie Knife with A2 Tool Steel & Green Canvas Micarta

The Edwin Forrest Bowie is no ordinary bowie knife. There is a significant story behind this handcrafted large bushcraft tool. Known by American Bowie knife experts as the actual blade used by Jim Bowie in the famous Sandbar Dual. Bowie, during his recovery, later entrusted Edwin Forrest with the bowie knife for use in his stage performances, along with original newspaper reports detailing the intense confrontation of the Dual. Discovered in the 1980s at the Forrest Family Estate in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, this knife bears a significant historical significance. Bark River's version of this knife maintains great balance and agility, which is important for its size. Holding it, one may find its maneuverability unexpectedly swift. Whether purchased for use or as a collectable, this knife represents a functional piece of American history, reflecting its serious and purposeful design.
