Description

Condor King Kukri Machete

Smashing onto the scene is a gorilla-sized kukri. Condor modeled this out of larger kukri examples from different regions in Nepal and took a special fuller out of the middle (often referred to as a chirra) to give the large 320mm blade a good amount of balance. Condor paid special attention to tapers, curves, and skeletonising of the 152mm handle to make the 6.0mm thick blade usable for anyone. Like most Condors, the King Kukri Machete comes with a full-grain leather sheath.

Not bad for the price but not premium

by Lukas -

Nice sized kukri, the weight is mostly felt in the middle rather than the end. The handle is very thick for my hands and I wear an XL glove. This means there's some slippage and without a handle guard, you would need to add a retention lanyard to avoid slipping your hand forward and cutting yourself.

Fit and finish is average. Glue marks are visible around all pins and handle scales. Lanyard pin is cracked on one side.

Finally the blades thickness tapers down to 3mm at the handle and 5-6mm from the handle top onwards.

Very dull out of the box also, I've had box axes come sharper.

I bought this as I couldn't import a becker bk21, which australian stockists charge double for here.

I'm sure I will look past the issues in this knife and grow to love it and have no plans of parting with it.
