Exotac titanLIGHT Replacement Wick Kit

This is the replacement wick for your Exotac titanLIGHT Refillable Lighter. The wick included with the titanLIGHT™is designed to last a very long time if maintained properly.  When the wick looks worn or wispy simply pull more wick out from the top and trim with a sharp pair of scissors.  If the wick binds, you may need to remove the fuel cap and the cotton to free the wick enough to pull through. Once you've achieved the proper length (top of the flameguard), fold the wick over between layers of cotton balls and replace the fuel cap. Replacing the wick needs patience and a sharp pair of scissors.

HOW TO REPLACE:  

1. Remove the flame guard by pressing out the brass pin while firmly holding the guard down.
2. Take out the cotton from the inside of the lighter, using paper towels to absorb any excess lighter fluid.
3. Gently pull out the old wick.
4. If needed, clean the wick hole using a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
5. Trim the end of the new wick at a 45-degree angle using sharp scissors.
6. Moisten the cut end of the wick with alcohol or a small amount of water.
7. While holding the cut end, stretch the opposite end of the wick to reduce its cross-section.
8. Insert the new wick from the outside through the top of the lighter, taking care not to fray it.
9. Once the wick is started in the hole, slowly guide it in, making small increments and supporting the wick with your fingers. If it frays, trim the wick and start again.
10. When the wick is visible inside the fuel cavity, use tweezers or needle nose pliers to grasp it and pull it through. Leave around 2.54cm protruding from the top of the titanLIGHT™ for trimming later.
11. To ensure optimal cotton absorption, fold the wick over into the cotton, creating "layers" until you reach the opening of the fuel cavity. This maximises the wick's surface area on the cotton, allowing for better fuel absorption.
