F1L Next Generation Knife F1L3GMM - Maroon Micarta

In 2017, a special edition of the F1/3G model of knives featuring maroon Micarta and showcasing a detailed laser engraving of the JAS 39 Griffin Next Generation, alongside the traditional oval logo. The handle medallion, guard, tubular rivet, and handle rivets were made of nickel silver with a thick layer of 24k gold. The knife, designed in a Loveless style, is handcrafted, limited to around a hundred pieces per kind due to its intricate nature. The blade, made of the premium 3G powder steel, boasts a convex edge, a unique offering. Sold as a collectible, the F1/3Gmm and F1/3Gbm remains fully operational. The F1, Fällkniven's bestseller, originated in 1987 for Swedish military pilots. The challenge for Falkniven was to create a light, strong, and sharp survival knife suitable for various conditions. After testing numerous knives, both fixed blade and folding, the design prioritised safety, grip, and functionality. The F1 Next Generation knife has become a success, using high-alloy corrosion-resistant steel. Inspired by the clean lines of Scandinavian knives, the late Robert W. Loveless praised the F1's design.
