Isle Royale Bushcraft Packs are built to carry big or small loads. They are designed narrow, for exploration, slipping between dog hair aspen and brush, these packs blend classic materials and construction with updated features for modern classic backwoods adventures. With lots of organisation in the form of pockets, attachments and straps, there’s space to keep gear where it needs to be. Plus, there’s plenty of capacity in the tall, narrow pack body.

• Twin, vertical 2-in-1 pockets straddle an axe sleeve. Pair it with a buscraft axe
• Each pocket is roughly the size of a 1 litre bottle and provides a space between the pocket and pack body to stow a folding saw or other long, thin object and keep it handy
  
• Premium Buckskin padded backstraps are distinctive and comfortable
• Ships with sturdy sternum strap installed
• All the straps are carefully selected and cut from a side of strong harness leather
• Lashing and compression at the sides with bridle leather straps, tough diamond-braid nylon cord and solid brass rings and buckles
• A slip pocket at the bottom of each side panel, two D-rings on the lid and four lash squares at the bottom allow gear to be stored on the outside of the pack
• The lid features a slim pocket for maps or other essentials

LEATHER FROM SB FOOT TANNERY
The leather in the straps and reinforcements come from the SB Foot Tannery in Red Wing, Minnesota. In 1872, Silas Buck Foot began tanning leather to provide high grade footwear for fellow Minnesotans to stay warm in the winter.  In 1905 the Foot family partnered with what will become Red Wing shoes. The partnership remains to this day.

RIVETED AND SEWN
The flapstraps on the canoe packs are double reinforced - riveted and sewn. The straps hold the pack closed and often bear the weight of the pack as it is lifted into and out of a canoe. They are relied upon and must hold, therefore Frost River ensures the security of the connection by both riveting and sewing it.

SOLID BRASS HARDWARE
All of the buckles, snaps, slides, and D-rings on Frost River packs and bags are solid brass. It matters because Frost Rivers’ products will outlast brass plating. Instead of turning steel grey the hardware will develop an old world brass patina. It’s the way it’s meant to be - and has a great sound.

DEERHIDE BUCKSKIN
Premium deerhide buckskin is used on Frost Rivers’ choppers, mitts and leather padded shoulder straps. It’s a supple, durable, and natural material that is sourced from wild deerhides taken during hunting seasons in the US. Most of the hides come from the Midwest. There will be some natural scars, scratches and imperfections in the leather. This is normal, and not a defect, adding character to Frost Rivers’ Reliable Softgoods.
