Frost River Lookout Daggett Day Backpack (475)

The Frost River Lookout Daggett Day Pack is a leather-clad backpack built with premium styling and multi-use functionality in mind. This durable pack is small in stature but big when it comes to catching eyes. Don’t be fooled by the minimalist design, this compact pack is feature-full.

The all-leather lid is secured by a thick, bridle leather strap and thread into a solid brass buckle. There’s another spacious exterior leather pocket that allows for easy access to items even (be ready at an opportune picture’s notice and slide your phone in either side) when the pack is buckled shut. Under the lid are two waxed canvas slip pockets to keep smaller items like field notes or snacks organised away from the peril of being sucked to the bottom of the pack. All of the goods packed into the Daggett Pack are sure to dry and secure. Under the leather top lid, excess waxed canvas covers the nylon zipper to keep all of the elements out. On the inside there is a hanging zippered pocket and brass swivel hook help keep smaller contents toward the top of the bag.

This pack can easily accommodate a 13in (33cm) laptop. Keeping up with all of the leather accoutrements, the Lookout Daggett Day Pack offers 1-1/2in bridle leather backstraps, that over time will break in to fit your frame perfectly and comfortably. Another premium feature of this new daypack are all of the brass rivets. This daypack works to show off some hand-pounded pride including a whopping 10 handpounds in the design. Another timeless pack handcrafted proudly in Duluth, Minnesota by Frost River.

Details
MADE WITHOUT COMPROMISE FROM THE HIGHEST QUALITY COMPONENTS BY FROST RIVER WAXED CANVAS FROM FAIRFIELD TEXTILES
Martexin Original Wax is an authentic American product that has stood the test of time and has outfitted American workers, farmers, explorers, fighters and outdoorsmen for many generations. The Martin family has been involved in the dyeing and finishing of textiles in the United States since 1838. It is the best canvas available, and Frost River stands behind it.

LEATHER FROM SB FOOT TANNERY
The leather in the straps and reinforcements come from the SB Foot Tannery in Red Wing, Minnesota. In 1872, Silas Buck Foot began tanning leather to provide high grade footwear for fellow Minnesotans to stay warm in the winter.  In 1905 the Foot family partnered with what will become Red Wing shoes. The partnership remains to this day.

RIVETED AND SEWN
The flapstraps on the canoe packs are double reinforced - riveted and sewn. The straps hold the pack closed and often bear the weight of the pack as it is lifted into and out of a canoe. They are relied upon and must hold, therefore Frost River ensures the security of the connection by both riveting and sewing it.

SOLID BRASS HARDWARE
All of the buckles, snaps, slides, and D-rings on Frost River packs and bags are solid brass. It matters because Frost Rivers’ products will outlast brass plating. Instead of turning steel grey the hardware will develop an old world brass patina. It’s the way it’s meant to be - and has a great sound.
