Lansky D-SHARP Multi-Angle Ceramic & Diamond Pocket Sharpener

The D-Sharp pocket knife sharpener features 4 sharpening angles (17, 20, 25 and 30) in 600 grit diamond. It also has a fine 800 grit ceramic benchstone that can be used for polishing straight or serrated blades. Perfect as a Lansky System accessory, or as a stand-alone sharpening solution.
  • Ceramic benchstone for fine polishing and serrations
  • 600 grit medium diamond pull-through slots
  • 800 grit ceramic serrated mini benchstone
  • Durable metal casing
  • 100% compatible with all Lansky Controlled-Angle Systems & Turn Boxes
Details
1. Diamond V-grooves (600 grit): 17º, 20º, 25º and 30º
Holding the knife with your dominant hand, and using the other hand to hold the sharpener: pull the knife through the desired angle slot. Rinse blade after sharpening.

2. Ceramic Benchstone
The medium (800) grit ceramic element should be used in a benchstone type fashion, or like a butcher steel. The ceramic benchstone is harder than steel, will never wear out, and can be used often as the primary sharpening element of your D-Sharp. The Ceramic Benchstone is also tapered for sharpening serrated knives. Eventually metal shavings will accumulate as dark streaks on the ceramic and will slow effectiveness. Clean with a Lansky EraserBlock.

3. Sharpening Serrations
Sharpen one serration at a time by pulling the ceramic element against the grooved side of the serration. For larger serrations: use a rolling motion to sweep the corner of the sharpener from one side of the serration to the other. Repeat until serration is sharp then move to the next serration.

Solid versatile sharpener

by Nathanael -

Solid unit, I'm glad to see a sharpener made with metal instead of plastic. Does make it heavier but that's ok and gives the unit some inertia to resist the vibration of dragging a blade through it. I like the variety of angles so you can do more aggressive bevels on your small folders and broader bevels on bushcraft knives although of course you probably can't use these sorts of V sharpeners on scandi grinds (well, maybe you can - give it a go). I like the ceramic honing edge,

D sharp

by Alan

Works well on some of my knives but seems to struggle a bit on some of the harder steels like cpm 20cv on my zero tolerance knives.
