Pack Fresh have redesigned their XXL mylar bags in line with the rest of their range. The bottom of the bag now comes sealed closed (not gusseted or free-standing) and the bag is filled via the top which has a ziplock seal for re-use. The top of the bag must be heat sealed closed.

Mylar films have extremely low Oxygen Transmission Rates due to the foil layer. The thickness of the film overall is not as important as the thickness and quality of this metalisation when it comes to long-term food storage. This is because oxygen cannot penetrate metal. And strength ? Even one square inch of this Mylar film can support the weight of two and a half cinder blocks !

To fill your Pack Fresh XXL Mylar Bags :
- Place the XXL Mylar Bag in a bucket with the sealed end facing the bottom of the bucket
- Start filling the Mylar bag with food through the top end of the mylar bag
- Place an adequate amount of oxygen absorber/s into the bag
- Squeeze out any additional air if possible, and heat seal the bag closed
- When ready to use, tear open the sealed top and use the zip lock to reseal the bag.

Flour can be 50% air! Pastas can be 75% air! A larger capacity Oxygen Absorber will help account for this. If there was a tiny leak in the seal, a larger absorber will continue to absorb oxygen for many years.

Easy to seal

Placed bag in bucket, filled with rice, partially sealed with a hair straightener, dropped in the oxygen absorbent and finished the seal. Easily done. Make sure you label and date.

These are the real deal! Massive difference in quality compared to other bags bought elsewhere. You can really feel the thickness. Its as easy as putting one in a bucket, filling it with whatever you're sealing, sealing most of the bag with a hair straightener, dropping in a few oxygen absorbers and sealing it up! Most goods stored this way will keep for 25 years, and given the current world events - why wouldn't you want food insurance.
