Joe Flowers envisioned the Brakimo (pronounced BRAH-key-moe) as a versatile blade, crafted to be both a reliable backup to a machete and a primary camp knife. Founder of Bushcraft Global, a wilderness survival school, Flowers leads expeditions to the Amazonian jungle, imparting essential survival skills adaptable to any environment. Seeking a flagship knife for his company, he developed the Brakimo to meet this demand.

Boasting a broad blade profile with TOPS' modified Scandi grind, it excels in cutting and splitting tasks. Its sharply tapered tip serves diverse purposes like drilling holes for bow-drill fires, crafting blowgun mouthpieces, or setting traps. The straightforward design suits a multitude of applications. Forged from 1095 high carbon steel, maintaining its sharp edge outdoors is hassle-free. Field tests during the 2015 Bushcraft Global trip revealed that keeping it dry prevents rust issues.

Derived from the Matis language (an unwritten dialect), "Brakimo" pays homage to the Matis tribe of Brazil, discovered by the modern world only in 1975-1976.
