The Large Northern Hunter is made from AEB-L Stainless Steel which is gaining quite a reputation due to its great performance. AEB-L performs much like carbon steel which is fantastic when you consider that it is stainless steel.

About AEB-L Stainless Steel

AEB-L is a Swedish stainless razor steel. It is a very pure, fine grained alloy (as much so as powder steels). When heat treated properly, produces very small, fine grain, which positively affects edge holding, edge stability and toughness. This steel is known for the ability to take a very fine edge. It has extremely high corrosion resistance with a medium range wear resistance making it very easy to sharpen.
